Parent Resources

Raising kids is a tough job!  Parents need all the help available.  Click below for articles and ideas to help you and your children survive adolescence.

Upcoming Events

IIt is vital to keep parents and students updated on upcoming dates and deadlines.  Check the Counseling calendar often to see what is going on.

Each student at BMS has their own unique needs.  We work with our students and families to design and support the best possible academic plan for every student.  In concert with the fine teachers and administration of BMS, we will do everything in our power to ensure the success of every BMS student.

College and Career Planning

Through testing and conversations, Mrs. VanZalen and Mr. Arnoys work to make colleges and career relevant and available to all students.

Middle school and adolescence can be a very difficult time.  We are here to coordinate with the families of BMS to help each of our students develop positive social and coping skills.  The Counseling Department can also assist in connecting students and families with outside counseling supports and coordinating a continuity of care between BMS and the agency.

Transitions and Scheduling

Each spring and early summer is spent creating the best possible schedule for all 800+ student at Baldwin Street Middle School.  Additionally, considerable attention is paid to preparing students and families for transitions from grade to grade and building to building.  Don't hesitate to contact the counseling office to ask questions or provide input on how to assist your son or daughter.
